There’s something about fall in Dallas–Fort Worth.

The first cool morning that actually calls for a sweater. Pumpkins piled outside little neighborhood churches. Hayrides, corn mazes, and children who insist on wearing their Halloween costumes approximately seventeen times before October 31.

And somewhere between school pickup and figuring out what on earth to do this weekend, you realize there are wonderful things happening all over the metroplex — Dallas, Fort Worth, and the towns in between.

The only trouble is finding them.

Well, a little bird told me…

We’ve gathered some of the sweetest pumpkin patches, family-friendly festivals, Halloween happenings, and fall adventures around Dallas–Fort Worth.

Some are big, make-a-day-of-it outings. Others are free little neighborhood traditions. All are worth knowing about.

Here’s your inside scoop on fall’s good stuff.

Before You Go

Fall schedules can change, especially when Texas weather has other plans.

A few things to remember:

  • Check the organizer’s website for the latest hours and ticket availability.
  • Some pumpkin patches close October 31, while others continue into November.
  • Free admission doesn’t always mean every activity is free.
  • Popular weekend events may require advance tickets or registration.

We’ve included official event sources in the guide so you can check the details before heading out.

The Good Stuff Is Worth Finding

Maybe this weekend looks like a big adventure at a pumpkin farm.

Maybe it’s a free little festival, a neighborhood pumpkin patch, or simply watching your children run through the grass with leaves in their hair.

It doesn’t have to be elaborate to be wonderful.

Because childhood goes by quickly.

And the good stuff is worth finding.

With love,
