A little bird told me…
The story behind The Bluebird List
Somewhere between summer camp sign-ups, soccer registration, birthday party planning, and trying to find something fun to do on a Saturday, I started wondering:
Why on earth is finding the good stuff for our kids so much work?
Because the good stuff is out there.
The sweetest little art classes. Summer camps they’ll talk about for years. Pony rides and fishing ponds. Hidden-gem birthday spots. Those wonderful little places you stumble upon and immediately want to tell a friend about.
But finding them? Well, that’s another story.
The information was scattered across a hundred websites, Instagram accounts, emails, and group chats. Registration dates came and went. And somehow, the best activities always seemed to be the ones you heard about from another mama—usually right after they filled up.
I kept thinking there had to be a better way.
So I started Camp Compass, a little something to help families find their way through the wonderful, overwhelming world of summer camps.
But the more I explored, the more I realized that camps were just the beginning.
Because childhood isn’t one season.
It’s Saturday mornings and long summer afternoons. It’s the first soccer team, a birthday party with pony rides, the art class they beg to go back to, and those unexpected little adventures that turn into the stories your family tells for years.
It’s all those moments that make growing up so special.
And wouldn’t it be lovely if finding them were just a little easier?
That’s how The Bluebird List came to life.
A thoughtfully gathered guide to the best of childhood, starting right here in Texas.
Part practical resource, part inside scoop, and part that friend who always seems to know about the good stuff.
The kind of friend who doesn’t keep her favorite finds to herself.
I know how much love goes into making childhood special. The planning, the searching, the little details nobody else sees. And I believe finding the good stuff shouldn’t have to be the hard part.
My hope is simple: to take a little of the work out of making childhood wonderful, so we can spend less time searching and more time making memories.
Because childhood goes by quickly.
And the good stuff is worth finding.
With love,

We do the digging. You make the memories.
We gather camps, classes, sports leagues, and registration dates so you can spend less time searching and more time enjoying the good stuff.
How the list works
- From the source. Listings and dates come from each program’s own website or booking page, or from a published guide, and listings show their source and when they were last checked.
- Honest dates. Every registration date is marked Confirmed (the program posted it for the coming season) or Expected (based on last year, not posted yet). When only a month is known, we say “Date TBA” instead of guessing a day.
- No rankings. We don’t rank programs or call anything “the best”. The Edit guides point you to listings worth a look.
- Free listings stay free. Any program can be listed at no cost. Featured listings, when we offer them, are always labeled.
