Last updated: November 5, 2026. My Nest is in public beta, so this page may change as we improve it. We will update the date when it does.
My Nest (accounts, saved items and family info)
My Nest is the free account that keeps your saved camps, classes and weekend plans in one place, and can help with school holidays and ideas for days off. It is optional: the rest of The Bluebird List works without an account.
What we store
- Your email address, so you can sign in.
- Your saved items (the camps, classes and events you save).
- Children and family details, only if you choose to add them: for each child a nickname or first name, age, optional grade, school choice (a district, a private school you pick or type, homeschool, or “not listed”) and interests. Also the areas you prefer, and any days off you add yourself (dates and a short label). These details are optional; you can use My Nest without adding any.
- School requests, if you use “Request your school”: the school name and city you type, linked to your account.
- Sign-in data: a scrambled (hashed) copy of each sign-in link code, which works once and expires after 15 minutes, and a sign-in cookie that is private to our site and expires after 30 days.
Please keep names to first names or nicknames. We do not ask for last names, birthdays, passwords or payment details. Nickname, school-name and day-off label fields are free text that you type, so please do not put last names, birthdays or other sensitive details in them. If you have, you can edit them at any time or delete your account.
What we do with it
We use it to sync your saved items and family details across your devices, to show camps and school holidays that fit your children’s ages, schools and interests, and to keep My Nest working. We do not sell your information, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use your children’s details for advertising.
Who handles your data (service providers)
- Cloudflare hosts this website and stores My Nest data (your account, saved items and family details) in its database service. Cloudflare processes data on our behalf.
- Resend is the email service that delivers your sign-in link. It receives your email address and the email we send (which contains your one-time sign-in link) in order to deliver it.
- Pages on this site load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google when you visit. We do not send Google any My Nest account data.
We do not send your children’s names, schools, ages or saved items to any analytics or advertising service.
Feedback you send us
The “Help Us Improve My Nest” form has three questions. Your answers are stored with the date but not with your account, email or any other identifier, and the form works without signing in. Because they are not linked to you, we cannot look up or delete one person’s feedback later, so please do not include personal details in it. If you want a reply, use Contact us instead.
How we measure whether My Nest is working
We keep simple, anonymous daily totals, such as how many accounts were created, how many people saved an activity, how many added school information, and how many came back within 30 days. These are counts only. They are not tied to your name, email, children or schools in any report, and they are not sent to third parties. To count return visits we keep a “last seen” date on your account, which is deleted with your account.
How long we keep it
- Your account and family details stay until you delete them.
- Sign-in codes are cleaned out within about a day after they expire. Sign-in sessions end when you sign out or after 30 days, and expired ones are cleaned out regularly.
- Backups: our database provider keeps rolling backups so we can recover from mistakes. Deleted data can remain in those backups for up to 30 days before it ages out. We do not restore a deleted account.
- Anonymous feedback and daily totals are kept for as long as they are useful for improving My Nest.
Your choices and how to delete your data
- Edit or remove any child, day off or saved item at any time on the My Nest page.
- To delete everything: sign in, open My Nest, scroll to the Account section and press “Delete my account and family info.” That immediately removes your account, saved items, children and family details, days off, school requests and sign-in sessions from our live database. (Copies in backups expire as described above.)
- If you cannot sign in, contact us from the email address on your account and we will delete it for you.
- The Bulletin newsletter is separate; creating an account does not subscribe you, and deleting your account does not change a newsletter subscription.
Children
My Nest is for parents and guardians. It is not for children to use, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from children. The details about a child are provided by their parent or guardian.
